DUBS is a social platform designed to help teen gamers connect and team up with others who share their gaming interests, making clarity and trust especially important in its safety communication.
The goal of this project was to help teen gamers understand how to chat safely on DUBS by recognizing red flags and practicing responsible online interactions — all within an engaging, fun, and age-appropriate animated format.
Working closely with the marketing and design teams at Side, I received the initial script and early character concepts. To strengthen clarity and tone, I refined character selection and developed additional character and object illustrations that fit seamlessly within DUBS’ established visual language.
I collaborated with designers to extend existing illustration systems into motion, contributing new visual elements while maintaining consistency with the product’s overall aesthetic.
I animated the full explainer, focusing on pacing, clarity, and visual hierarchy to ensure safety concepts were easy to understand for a young audience.
To support audio production, I introduced placeholder sound effects and participated in voice recording sessions, offering direction on tone and delivery to ensure the message felt friendly, clear, and trustworthy.
Final sound design and music were produced by Side Global.
The final animation became a core safety communication asset for DUBS, supporting a positive and secure experience for teen users by making critical guidelines approachable and easy to understand.
