Joom, a global shopping app, announced a major birthday promotion and invited influencers to create posts to raise awareness. While most content focused on promotion alone, I saw an opportunity to improve clarity around how the discount worked—specifically, the requirement to add items to the cart before the sale day to unlock the biggest savings.
The goal of this project was to simplify the promotion mechanics through motion, helping users understand the steps quickly and reducing confusion in a high-traffic, time-sensitive moment.
Rather than creating a static post, I chose to design a short motion graphics explainer that walked viewers through the discount logic in a clear, engaging way.
Using icons and illustrations aligned with Joom’s visual language at the time, I focused on:
The animation was designed to feel friendly, celebratory, and informative—matching the tone of a birthday campaign while still prioritizing usability.
I designed and animated the piece end-to-end in a short timeframe, incorporating sound effects and music to enhance clarity and engagement. Motion timing and visual hierarchy were carefully tuned to ensure the message landed even for viewers scrolling quickly.
The final animation demonstrated how motion design can improve promotional clarity—not just awareness—by translating complex discount rules into an intuitive, user-friendly narrative. It also reflects a proactive product mindset: identifying friction and solving it through design.
